Who is Your Favorite Film Bad Dancer?

There are plenty of classic dance scenes in films that are meant to bring a laugh to the viewers. How can anyone forget the dance routines in Napoleon Dynamite or Little Miss Sunshine? Both are epic. There is nothing cooler than Christopher Walken letting loose in the Fatboy Slim video for Weapon of Choice.  That video couldn’t be more entertaining.

But what about the actors that have a dance scene in a film that are so ridiculous, they leave you scratching your head and asking yourself, “What the hell did I just watch?’ The 80s was no stranger to silly clothing and actors doing things in character that they or the directors thought were cool, but eventually would become very embarrassing.

For example, award winning actor Ed Harris got his boogie on in the 1982 classic film Creepshow and his head and arm shake can be unmatched by even the most talented dancers. Ed plays Hank Blaine in one of the stories called Father’s Day. While Ed is chilling with his girl waiting for her Aunt Bedelia to come up from the family cemetery to the house for dinner, the couple decides to cut a rug. I don’t know what this head shake move Harris does, but I often wondered if he did this move for real at weddings and clubs. His girl clearly digs it.

At some point, someone on the set while filming the bar scene with Jean Claude Van Damme in Kickboxer had to think they were watching the absolute funniest thing ever. I understand, he is supposed to be drunk, but this scene cracks me up so much every time I see it and I can’t help to think they just let this wiggle happen on purpose. Like Van Damme was a dick to work with and when he started to do that dance, everyone was just like, “Fuck it.”

And finally, a dance scene that goes beyond your expectations of what you might imagine Crispin Glover would look like on a dance floor. His character Jimmy in the classic Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter is already meant to awkward and strange, but so is Crispin Glover. To a degree, Glover dancing like a maniac is something anyone should just automatically except, but this shit is off the hook.

Now I know what your thinking… Who is this guy to talk about people dancing when he probably looks like Fred Flinstone singing Bedrock Twitch. Exactly, you won’t catch me scooting around a dance floor. But I can still enjoy a good laugh!

Is there a dance scene in a movie that you think is totally wacky, but not meant to be? Do you bust up every time you watch the hospital dance scene in Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo? If so, share your favorite scenes in the comments below!
