This has been quite the overwhelming year for everyone. I don’t need to go into details of the tragedies people across the world have had to deal with, we all know.
One of the positive things I have seen come out of this year is a tremendous amount of creativity. Now that we are home, musicians are writing new material, people are starting podcasts and web series, comedians are writing tons of new material, and authors have been plugging away. Small business owners in my neighborhood and yours are learning to do business a whole new way and people are adapting.
I am the type of person that always has different project ideas going on in my head but not enough time to execute them. This year, with more time on my hands, I took the bull by the horns and started Total Gavone Clothing. I have had the company for years, but now I had the chance to expand on it.
Not only did I have a solid launch of the clothing line, but I was able to help my friend Ryan Butler and his family by raising money though selling some items related to him that were really fun. I started working with an amazing artist and new friend Mick Lambrou, and I was also able to make some North Side Kings merch available to people that have been asking for years.
This brings us to the end of the year, and I wanted to come up with something that was going to be an annual holiday item. With that I introduce you to our Annual Limited Edition Go Show Carlo The Tree Christmas T-Shirt. What does Go Show Carlo the Tree even mean?
At the end of The Godfather 2 in a flash back scene, Michael tells Sonny and his family that he has decided to enlist in The Marines instead of going to college. Sonny gets hot about and tells his sister Connie to go show his then friend Carlo the Christmas Tree.
This was basically his way of being able to speak at the table and not have to worry about someone outside of the family listing to something that was not their business.
The line is subtle but so powerful. Now when I wanna get rid of someone I tell them, “Go Show Carlo The Tree!”
